School Design and Construction

Delivering on Our Promises

We are building the projects you approved as part of the 2019, 2022 and 2025 capital levies.

Thank you for investing in building, modernizing, and maintaining our schools.

Most school design and construction at Seattle Public Schools is funded by local, voter-approved capital levies. Other funding sources include Distressed Schools Grants from the state of Washington and the state School Construction Assistance Program.

Major construction projects, such as replacement buildings or major modernization/historic renovations, continue over multiple years.

Smaller projects are usually scheduled for summer months to reduce disruption to teaching and learning. These summer projects include safety and security projects, seismic upgrades, building systems repairs or replacement, and roofing projects.
