Enrollment Resources for Families and Students
To enroll in Seattle Public Schools schools, students must live within the district attendance boundaries. We welcome enrollment of Non-resident students are those who don't live within the Seattle School district if they have been approved a choice transfer request. Read more about non-resident students.
January 3 New registrations for 2023-24 school year begins.
February 1 – February 28 Open Enrollment is the annual four-week period where students may first apply Students may choose to apply for another attendance area school, including K-8 applications will be accepted.
March 1 – May 31 Students may choose to apply for another attendance area school, including K-8 late applications will be accepted.
April 18 Open Enrollment is the annual four-week period where students may first apply results will be available online.
June 1 – August 31 Non-resident applications will be accepted.
August 31 Waitlists for the 2023-24 school year will dissolve.

Preschool and Kindergarten
If your child is 5 by August 31, you can enroll them in kindergarten for that year! Learn more about preschool options and how to help prepare your children for kindergarten.

Can we choose a different school?
Students may apply to attend a different school through the Students may choose to apply for another attendance area school, including K-8 process.
