WHOLE Mentoring’s HBCU Tour Becomes Documentary Film

During last year’s spring break, 15 students from the district’s WHOLE Mentoring program embarked on a tour of six historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Now, that amazing experience has been turned into a documentary film produced by the Seattle Seahawks Community Engagement Team. “WHOLE Mentoring HBCU Experience” highlights special moments from the college tours and showcases students talking about their experience.

Students and staff who went on the trip were invited to a special screening of the film. After walking the red carpet, the guests feasted on a barbeque dinner, hosted a panel discussion, and played games to win some awesome prizes.

Not only did the students get to see themselves on the big screen, but Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner kept a promise he’d made to the boys on the trip. He gifted all the Kings a new pair of Air Jordan sneakers!
