Academy of Rising Educators Teacher Certification Program Cohort 5 Application is Open

The Academy of Rising Educators (ARE) teacher certification program is designed to increase the number of teachers of color within Seattle Public Schools by removing the financial burden of tuition for teacher certification.  

SPS will pay for your college tuition and guarantee you a teaching job in the district in exchange for your commitment to teach for 4 years! 

ARE is accepting applications for the following. Priority is given to those that do NOT hold any college degree.

• Any graduating high school seniors that have an interest in becoming a teacher 
• Any current instructional assistants or school staff members that wish to become certified instructors. 
• Any community members that wish to move into a career in education
