One Breakfast, One Lunch, Every Student, Every School
Every SPS student now has access to free school meals, regardless of family income or school attended. Students at Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools already received meals at no cost. Through a new partnership with the City of Seattle, free meals have expanded to students at the 51 SPS schools that are not part of the CEP program.
Students may receive one complete breakfast and one complete lunch at no cost each school day. Meals must meet federal meal program requirements. Additional items, snacks, second entrées, or individual items that are not part of a complete meal may be charged separately.
Students Still Use Their ID or Barcode
All students must enter their information at the cafeteria point of sale by scanning their barcode or entering their student ID number. This requirement applies at both CEP and city-funded schools.
Every Family Should Complete the CNEEB Application
Free meals are available to all SPS students, but every family is encouraged to complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit application (CNEEB). Family responses help schools receive important funding and resources, and the application may qualify students for additional educational benefits. Families who do not wish to provide income information may select the “Decline Benefits” option.
