4205 Accessing Communication Auxiliary Aids and Services for District-Sponsored Programs, Events and Activities

Seattle Public Schools is committed to non-discrimination and ensuring that communication for District-sponsored programs, events, and activities are accessible to families and members of the community with disabilities, including persons who are deaf/hearing impaired and blind/visually impaired.

To ensure that communication with persons with disabilities is as effective as with nondisabled persons, the District will provide information on its website about how to request auxiliary aids and services, ask related questions, or raise concerns. When necessary, upon request and at no cost, such information will also be provided in a format accessible to the requester.

The Superintendent is granted the authority to develop procedures in order to implement this policy.
