My name is Jo Holo (she/her), and I am so excited to join the Lincoln High community! I grew up in New York City and attended college in Chicago where I studied geology and chemistry. I then moved to California to complete a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences where I did research on climate change. During my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to act as a teaching assistant, which is when I really fell in love with teaching! I worked for a year as an environmental consultant before returning to school to become a science teacher. I am committed to fostering an inclusive, justice-centered classroom where diversity is celebrated and all students feel seen, valued, and empowered to learn. Outside of school, I love dancing, arts and crafts, and reading murder mysteries!
This is my sixth-year teaching elementary music and I am so happy to be doing it at John Hay! I have a Master of Music Education from UW and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from PLU. I enjoy playing many instruments as well as learning and teaching about musicians from around the world and throughout history. When I’m not at school you can find me making music with my husband and son or exploring the great outdoors. I’m excited to make music with you!
