How I got Into Education: The reason why I chose education is because of one old Somali proverb that says, "bar ama baro" which translates to "teach or learn". This old saying has inspired me to become a teacher. I see teaching as transferring knowledge to the next generation.

I love seeing the students faces light up when they understand a concept. Outside of school I like to spend time with my family and friends, work in my yard and bake.

(She/Her/Hers) I've been teaching in Seattle Public Schools since 2019 and joined the amazing Madrona community in 2021! I have a bachelor's in art education and my master's in Elementary Education. I teach here because I love the brilliance and creativity of our amazing students. I’m passionate about making learning a joyful and meaningful experience for all.
