Superintendent Search Community Engagement Sessions

Dear SPS Families and Staff,

Please join Seattle Public Schools (SPS) and our superintendent search firm, Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), to share your thoughts about the new superintendent. We are holding focus groups for the Black and Native communities to center your voices in this process.

The feedback from these sessions will help shape the leadership profile the School Board will use to select the new superintendent. Your insights are incredibly important to this process. Here are the upcoming sessions:

  • Native Community Session: Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m., Denny International Middle School, 2601 SW Kenyon St, Seattle, WA, 98106.
  • Black Community Session: Thursday, Aug. 14, at 6:30 p.m., Byrd Barr Place, 722 18th Ave, Seattle, 98122.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided at the in-person sessions. Light snacks will also be provided.

To request additional accommodations and more information please fill out one of the forms below:

While these sessions will focus on communities we have not yet heard from, as with all Seattle Public School events, anyone is welcome to attend.

Sincerely,

Seattle Public Schools Board Office
