Student Accident Insurance Available for 2026-27 School Year 

At Seattle Public Schools, student safety is always a top priority. While we take every precaution to protect our students, we recognize that accidents can still happen—both on and off campus. Medical treatment following an injury or illness can be costly, and families are often left to cover those expenses. 

SPS offers access to voluntary student accident insurance plans for the 2026–27 school year. These plans are designed to help offset medical costs in the event of an accident, and optional coverage is available for sickness and dental accidents as well. 

Coverage Highlights: 

• Options for 24/7 worldwide coverage or school-only accident coverage 
• No network restrictions, with access to discounted providers 
• Emergency care (ambulance, ER, and ER physicians) covered at 100% of UCR 
• Special provisions for concussion care, including waived deductibles 
• Specific plans to meet insurance requirements for interscholastic sports  
• Additional protection for dental accidents, ideal for younger students 

Even if your child already has health insurance, these plans can help reduce out-of-pocket costs like high deductibles or coinsurance—particularly valuable when seeking specialized care.
