2027-28 Financial Aid Applications are Available

Summary: Half of families in Washington can get free money for college or training.

Apply now!

Going to college or training next fall? Financial aid applications for this year’s graduating seniors are available now!

In Washington, there are two ways to apply for financial aid. You should only complete one application, the FAFSA or the WASFA:

Applying for financial aid is a crucial first step toward college or job training. Financial aid can be used for community college, a four-year degree, eligible certificate programs, or an approved apprenticeship. You have options!

Many people assume they won’t qualify, but about half of families in Washington can get free money to help pay for education beyond high school. For 2026-27, a family of four making up to $139,500 can qualify for financial aid in Washington. In 2027-28, that income cutoff is expected to be even higher. The only way to know for sure if you’re eligible is to apply.
