Seattle Public Schools

Family Support Program

In Memory of Roy Witt

For approximately fifteen years, Roy Witt supported the Seattle Public Schools Family Support Program, providing trainings in First Aid & CPR through his business, Breath For Life.

Roy worked as a firefighter/EMT for the City of Seattle from 1980-2018 on assignment to many areas throughout the City.  One of Roy’s passions was to help his students recognize the importance and hopeful possibilities in rendering aid to help save a life.  Even though it felt simply natural to him, Roy was always amazed and blessed by how his teachings touched people’s lives.

Dedicated to his craft, Roy taught with immense kindness, compassion, patience and a good bit of humor.  He was determined to give the quality training necessary for his students to confidently assist others in emergency situations.  He also kept a watchful eye out for those he could mentor in teaching or joining the fire service.

A man of faith, Roy had a heart to care for people in need and did so throughout his life.

Roy Witt passed away June 24, 2018.  In honor of his memory, the Witt family asks that donations be made to the Seattle Public Schools “Family Support Program” to continue providing basic needs and crisis support (food, clothing, housing support, etc.) to students and their families.
