I have been sharing my love of learning across the nation since 2005, working for schools in New Jersey, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
I graduated from the University of Southern California (Fight On!) with a B.A. in Psychology and earned my M.A. in Public Policy and Education Leadership at Rutgers University while participating in Teach For America.
I am certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, have served as a Career Ladder Teacher with Seattle Public Schools, worked as an adviser for Scholastic’s weekly readers product, and mentored student teacher interns from City U, Antioch University, and Seattle Pacific University.
I enjoy camping, traveling, reading, running, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Seahawks with my husband and three children.
I got my undergraduate degree in Japanese from The Ohio State University. After teaching English in Japan for several years, I decided to pursue teaching and got my Masters in Education from Chaminade University in Hawaii! I’ve taught kindergarten almost my entire career and love working with young minds!
I attended University of California Santa Barbara and have always loved to work with students in hands on engaging ways; the garden and science are perfect ways to experience learning firsthand!
I have been working in education since 2016 and have been teaching at Roxhill since 2025. I love being a part of a team to help students feel successful every day. I believe every student deserves to feel joy and belonging at school! In my free time, I’m often hanging out at local parks with my toddler. Wave if you see us! – Teacher James
