Jonathan Fox has been teaching English language arts at Lincoln since 2019. Before that, he taught at Jane Addams Middle School and student-taught at Rainier Beach High School and Cleveland High School.
A creative writing and literature major in college, and a freelance writer and editor after graduating, Mr. Fox comes to the classroom with a dual appreciation of the joy and utility of artful, lucid writing and close, thoughtful reading.
I first entered Lincoln as an ELA teacher when it reopened in 2019. I’m excited to be returning this year in the role Activities Coordinator/Leadership teacher. My goal is to focus on the larger systems within education and see how we can make changes to create schools that are more equitable for students.
Vicky Greenbaum looks forward to working with Lincoln orchestras. She enjoys conducting all kinds of orchestral musicians. Vicky happily conducted the Washington Middle School orchestras for a year, and she guest conducted at Garfield, Roosevelt, Ballard and Jane Addams the year before that. In California, she spent 22 years directing high school musicians in the Menlo Orchestra and Chamber Music program, in addition to the Art of Sound Summer Brass Institute, where she loved collaborating with members of the San Francisco Symphony and other important orchestras to educate talented young brass players. Vicky has conducted opera, musicals, and orchestras in schools in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Since her 1985 debut in Berkeley, when she accidentally ended up conducting Handel's Messiah with Berkeley Chorus, she has been invited to conduct a number of other orchestras, on purpose. As a professional violinist, she worked in Los Angeles, Houston and New York after studies with Robert Lipsett of CSU Northridge and Sally Thomas of the Juilliard School. But she never forgets her start in 7th grade beginning orchestra, where she tried Mr. Greco's patience by zoning out in the back of the violin section, being out of tune, in the wrong measure, and trying to play all the melodies by ear.
I began my teaching career in the East Bay of San Francisco while attending the teacher credential program at Santa Clara University. While working as a high school resource classroom teacher and coaching youth soccer, I continued my education at SCU and completed a Master of Arts in Special Education. I currently hold teaching endorsements in social studies, history, ELL, and special education.
In 2004, my three sons and I moved back to my home town in Southwest Washington where I continued to work as an IEP teacher and case manager. Throughout my teaching career I have been most passionate about supporting students in their individual journeys. I am dedicated to providing all learners with opportunities that guide them to discover their unique strengths and abilities as high school students and as members of their communities. Additionally, I believe teachers should be role models as life-long learners. This belief led me to complete a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Portland before relocating to Seattle in the summer of 2018.
I am looking forward to working with such a great educational community at Lincoln High School.
I will be joining the Lincoln team in the World Language Department teaching Spanish. I am so excited to help build and create an enthusiastic team of language teachers. Being able to speak a second language is essential for the future of our students, and I truly enjoy helping students get there.
I am currently finishing my 7th year in teaching, three years at the high school level here in Seattle at Garfield and Roosevelt, before that I taught at the middle school level in Arizona. I completed my Masters in Education from the University of Arizona in 2011, and from 2007-2009 I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua.
Hello all! I am excited to be joining the Lincoln HS team this year as an IEP coordinator! I grew up in Boston, MA and earned my B.A. degree in History and Secondary Education from Framingham State University. After graduating, I worked as an Instructional Assistant in a high school for a few years before deciding to go back and pursue a master’s degree in Special Education. I taught high school special education for one year in the Boston area before making a solo move to Seattle. I have been living in Seattle for two years and have taught in the Bellevue School District before joining SPS as a teacher at Hamilton International Middle School. In addition to teaching, I have also worked as a high school and middle school track and field coach. I am super excited to be coaching our cross country team this fall and our track team in the spring! In my free time, I love to run and travel. To combine these hobbies, I have a life goal of completing a race in all 50 states. I also love cooking, eating, reading history books, being outdoors, and watching Tom Brady acquire more rings (GO PATS)!
Cory Campbell hated history class in high school. It was only as a young adult in college that he learned that history is more than boring facts and dates, that it is an account of what happened, constructed by historians through analyzing and evaluating evidence, and it’s super interesting and important.
Over the past 18 years, Cory has taught English as a foreign language in Madagascar, preschool in Ballard, and High School Social Studies at Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA. He endeavors to help students see how history shaped their identity and empower them to make the world a more just and joyful place. Cory enjoys playing and watching soccer (Go Sounders! Come on You Spurs!), reading, and listening to and playing music. In another life he would have been a composer.
My name is Emma Campbell (she/her). I have been teaching at Lincoln High School since 2020. I teach Language Arts and Journalism and love exploring texts and helping publish The Lincoln Log. I hold a BA in English and an MS in Curriculum & Instruction and have taught in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Washington.
When I’m not teaching, I love reading, exploring Seattle bookstores and restaurants, playing volleyball, and cheering on the Seattle Sounders with my husband Kyle.
Stephen Culpepper has been teaching high school math since 2016, previously at Redmond High School. He is thrilled at the unique opportunity to be a part of Lincoln High's reopening, and looks forward to the coming year. After graduating from Western Washington University with a B.S. in Mathematics and minor in Music, returned to WWU to get his Masters in Teaching and make education his career. Stephen enjoys being a student as well as a teacher, and can usually be found in a class of some sort during his time off in the summer, either studying more math, or learning about other STEM subjects. As well as teaching, Stephen has been a high school basketball coach over the past few years, and is excited to be a part of the Lincoln basketball program. Outside of education, Stephen enjoys going to the movies with his wife, playing music, basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
