I have taught high school science and math since 1998. Currently I teach in the mornings at The Center School and afternoons at a small private school in southeast Seattle. My wife and I are three adult children.
My name is Alessandro Scilletta and I was born in New York City. I moved to Seattle 4 years ago from NYC where I taught chemistry, biology and physics for 6 years in the South Bronx, Harlem and Hell’s kitchen. Prior to becoming a teacher, I served 10 years in the Air Force (4 active duty and 6 years in the Air National Guard) where I worked at a Boom Operator and a Computer, Cryptography, Network and Switching systems technician.
I absolutely love being a science teacher! Getting to geek out about science (and set off the occasional fire alarm) with our wonderful students is an amazing privilege. I would do this job for free if I could.
