jmmontes@seattleschools.orgDear Wing Luke Families,
Welcome new families and families who are returning for another amazing year. Let's go powerful Dragons!
Wing Luke's vision is to build a high performing, multicultural community for lifelong learning. We see the variety of cultures within our community as an incredible asset to our educational program. The year ahead is going to be wonderful, and I am really looking forward to continuing to build a strong school community together.
This year, all Seattle Public Schools will be focused on 3 pillars of inclusive learning: MTSS, UDL, and restorative practices. We believe that every student should feel welcome and find a sense of belonging at school.
Wing Luke specifically will continue to maintain close family relationships, culturally responsive instructional practices, and accessible and rigorous curriculum to support our students in their current and future academic success.
I look forward to meeting students and families and being a part of the Wing Luke Elementary school community. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out to me.
As a reminder, school begins on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:55 am (doors open at 7:40 am) with a 2:25 pm dismissal for all students. Supervision begins at 7:40 am which includes breakfast service. PE/Health Teacher
hbbarnes@seattleschools.orgHello! I am thrilled to be here at Lincoln and focusing on Physical Education and Health classes. I have a deep passion for my subject matter and hope to pass that along to my students. I completed my undergrad at the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) and graduate degree from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!). My passions include running, traveling, politics, plants, and officiating football.
Science Teacher
radrouin@seattleschools.orgHey, Lynx! I am so excited to join of the community at Lincoln. I grew up in Edmonds and fell in love with the Puget Sound at young age. For awhile, I was determined to become a marine biologist, so I volunteered at the Seattle Aquarium throughout high school. However, I discovered a passion for sharing the magic of science with others, so I decided to pursue a career in education. I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane (Go Zags!) where I received my B.A. in Biology and my Secondary Education Teaching Certification. The highlight of my undergrad experience was studying abroad in the Turks and Caicos Islands. There, I scuba dived and completed research on sea turtle and eagle ray conservation.
After graduation, I stayed in Spokane and taught high school Biology and AP Biology. I am thrilled to be back home on this side of the state where I am closer to my family, the ocean, and amazing coffee. When I am not teaching, you can expect to find me doing yoga, looking for sea shells at the beach, watching Gonzaga basketball, or listening to true crime podcasts at a coffee shop.
Psychology/Social Science and Health Teacher
kkbabington@seattleschools.orgI am excited to teach AP Psychology and Health at Lincoln! I have always loved learning and teaching. During my undergraduate studies, I pursued a B.A. in Biology and Women’s Studies and a minor in Psychology. I earned a medical degree from the University of Washington and completed a residency in Psychiatry. I enjoyed the opportunity to teach medical students and junior physicians over the years and ran a private psychiatric practice for over a decade. I look forward to continuing to bring my passion for psychology and health and my industry experience to the classroom. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family and friends, watching movies, and taking long walks with my dog.

zmlong@seatteschools.orgHello hello!
My name is Zach Long (he/him). I am relatively new to the Seattle area, as I moved here in 2021 to begin my graduate degree in the Language, Literacy, and Culture program at the University of Washington College of Education. I was raised in Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin where I received a B.S. in Communication Studies in 2018. I then taught English Language Arts in the Austin area for 3 years. I am passionate about authentic writing instruction, meaningful reading instruction, and building an equitable learning environment. In my spare time I enjoy reading queer YA novels, watching movies, agonizing over UT football, and spending time with my dog, Ranger. I am thrilled to be joining the Lincoln community!
Science Teacher
rlmichener@seattleschools.orgHey Lynx,
I'm excited to teach science at Lincoln! I grew up in North Carolina, went to Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, and fell in love with the PNW. I got my masters in teaching at UW and have taught in Seattle, Salt Lake City, UT, and Charlottesville, VA. When not teaching, I can be found mountain climbing, gardening, or experimenting with recipes. I love a good experiment!
