Maggie Mattmiller dual majored in Deaf Education and Special Education at Ball State University and received a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Washington. Originally from Ohio, her first teaching job was teaching American Sign Language in a high school as a world language teacher. After moving to Seattle, she joined Seattle Public Schools where she has been for 10 years, serving as an instructional assistant, a special education teacher and in multiple central office capacities. Most recently, she has been a Professional Growth and Educator Support consulting teacher coaching new-to-profession special education teachers. She has worked in classrooms prek-12th grade and is excited to be returning to high school. She is an avid reader, looking forward to getting book recommendations from students, staff, and families, so please share your favorites!  Ms. Mattmiller will be serving students with last names starting with the letters Nor – Z. 

Langness, Rachel

Rachel Langness has been in education for over 15 years. Hailing from Arizona, Ms. Langness is new to the Roosevelt team and is excited to be a part of this vibrant and diverse community. Holding a Bachelors in Theater Education and Outreach from University of Arizona, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, Ms. Langness has served as a classroom teacher, as well as a professional development specialist for the Phoenix Union High School District. She is arriving in Seattle with her husband, two daughters, and dog Rosco. Her interests include Theater and performance, baking bread, and watching Marvel movies. Ms. Langness will be serving students with the last names starting with the letters Gla - Nob.
