Dear Wing Luke Families,

Welcome new families and families who are returning for another amazing year. Let’s go powerful Dragons!

Wing Luke’s vision is to build a high performing, multicultural community for lifelong learning. We see the variety of cultures within our community as an incredible asset to our educational program. The year ahead is going to be wonderful, and I am really looking forward to continuing to build a strong school community together.

This year, all Seattle Public Schools will be focused on 3 pillars of inclusive learning: MTSS, UDL, and restorative practices. We believe that every student should feel welcome and find a sense of belonging at school.

Wing Luke specifically will continue to maintain close family relationships, culturally responsive instructional practices, and accessible and rigorous curriculum to support our students in their current and future academic success.

I look forward to meeting students and families and being a part of the Wing Luke Elementary school community. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out to me.

As a reminder, school begins on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:55 am (doors open at 7:40 am) with a 2:25 pm dismissal for all students. Supervision begins at 7:40 am which includes breakfast service. Kindergarten students’ first day of school is on Monday, September 11. Please note that, with the exception of the first day, students are released every Wednesday at 1:10 for staff professional development. Look for the complete first week packet which will come to you via your student’s teacher within the first week of school.

Sincerely,
JaLynn Montes, Principal
