Election Day, Nov. 5, 2024

Dear SPS Colleagues,

Election Day is, Nov. 5 and I’d like to remind you to submit your ballots and make your voices heard. Voting is an important civic responsibility, and it’s an opportunity for all of us to help shape the future of our communities and our country.

We understand that election periods can bring about mixed emotions and may even cause anxiety for some of our students. Regardless of the outcome, I want to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring Seattle Public Schools (SPS) remains an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and families.

We will continue our work to provide culturally responsive instruction and create school communities where all students, families, and staff are safe, respected, and supported. Bias or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated in our schools.

Thank you for your attention to this important reminder. Together, let’s continue to make SPS a place where all students thrive.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brent Jones
Superintendent
Seattle Public Schools
