Digital Learning Cohort

Digital Learning Cohort Overview:

During each school year, the SPS Digital Learning Team works with a different cadre of Digital Learning Cohort educators to build expertise in digital learning strategies that will meet the needs of our students, families, and communities.

Together, educators foster leadership for and integration of digital learning strategies, with an unapologetic emphasis on students furthest from educational justice.

The DL Cohort project consists of Professional Learning and Individualized Coaching Meetings.

Digital Learning Cohort Goals and Objectives:

  • Participant educators will explore and expand the use of digital learning strategies to enhance and increase instructional effectiveness for all students, focusing on those furthest from educational justice.
  • Cohorts will integrate digital learning strategies into existing SPS initiatives (e.g. Strategic Plan, Skillful Teacher, UDL, Inclusivity, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Danielson Framework).
  • Educators will explore and expand the use of digital learning strategies to enhance and increase instructional effectiveness for all students, focusing on those furthest from educational justice.

Educator Commitments:

  • Educators commit to a year-long exploration of digital learning strategies designed to ensure equity and access for all students.
  • Digital Learning Specialists meet with cohort participants to accomplish the following goals:
    •  Build expertise with new digital learning strategies
    •  Learn and practice best pedagogical practices in a digital learning environment
    • Reflect on and share progress through a racial equity lens
  • Cohorts meet monthly to:

    • Meet regularly as a team  during the school year
    • Attend professional learning that focuses on building technical, pedagogical, and leadership skills
    • Participate in Coaching Cycle
    • Earn clock hours and extra time pay for the after-school professional learning
