It is the policy of the Seattle School Board that, when an independent educational assessment of students is provided by a qualified examiner employed by the district, and where recommendations are made for new or continued service by that particular agency or provider, the district may not contract for the service from the agency or provider which recommended the service unless it is from any other source. This policy is intended to avoid conflicts of interest between the appropriate identification of students’ educational needs and the educational services recommended to meet those needs.
