I’m the father of two Seattle Public Schools students one a senior at Ballard HS the other a graduate and Lance Corporal in the USMC. My mom taught 2nd and 3rd grades for more than 35 years. My community service includes Scout Assistant Scoutmaster for Magnolia Troop 80. I have a BA from Whitman College and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace University.

Public education is pivotal to prepare future generations to be responsible, caring and capable adults. The social environment in which public education is delivered has unique challenges. We as parents, community members and businesses have an opportunity to hold ourselves accountable to ensure education equips students with the means to be competitive in future careers or higher education.
