Music During Summer Break for SPS Students
Stay connected to music instruction over the summer with the Summer Music Program and Seattle All-City Band! The Seattle Public Schools’ Summer Music Program is for band and orchestra students entering grades 5-9 and Seattle All-City Band is for high school students that participate in upwards of 20 parades and community celebrations throughout the summer. Seattle All-City Band

Established in 1951 by Seattle Public Schools, All-City Band has a reputation for excellence in music education, student leadership, and entertainment. The band brings together students from schools throughout the greater Seattle area to entertain in upwards of 20 parades and community celebrations each summer. Register below and pay through SchoolPay or check.

Details:
- Who: Students in the graduating classes of 2026-2030 (Current 8th-12th graders)
- Program Dates: Tuesday, June 23rd to Sunday, August 9th, 2026
- Rehearsals: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays at 6-9 p.m.
- Performances: Most weekends
- Rehearsal Location: Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex – 2601 SW Thistle St.

Fees:
- Tuition: $350
- Uniform Pants or Shorts: $45
- Uniform Shirts: $25
- Pins: $25 for each year ordered
- Bus transportation from Lincoln High School to the Southwest Athletic Complex and back: $50

Summer Music at Seattle Public Schools
This year, Summer Music 2026 will take place June 29-July 2 (Monday-Thursday) and July 7-10 (Tuesday-Friday) at two locations: Nathan Hale High School and Mercer International Middle School. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Date adjustments have been made to reflect July 4th holiday.
The Summer Music Program is a way for students to continue their music learning during the summer months. The program is designed for students entering grades 5-9 (fourth grade completed). Students must have completed at least one year of instrumental instruction. Operation of Summer Music is contingent upon sufficient enrollment.

Who: SPS Students entering 5 – 9 grade with at least one year of instrumental music instruction
When: Two weeks: June 29-July 2 (Monday-Thursday) and July 7-10 (Tuesday-Friday) 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students may attend for the full two weeks or one week. Date adjustments have been made to reflect July 4th holiday.
Where: Mercer International Middle School and Nathan Hale High School
Cost: $150 per week, scholarships available.

Please note: piano, ukulele, or guitar instruction are not offered during Summer Music
Activities
- Technique classes, small ensembles, recess time with choice of activities.
- End-of-week performances (7/2 and 7/10)
Tuition
Tuition for one (1) week is $150 and two (2) weeks is $300. Most students do two (2) weeks.
Scholarships are available.
