John Marshall School Modernization and Addition Project

About the Project

The John Marshall School is an interim site used as a temporary location for schools undergoing renovation or replacement.

By modernizing the existing building and constructing an addition, the school can better serve as an interim site for future elementary and middle schools undergoing construction.

Building system upgrades will include geothermal wells to support a modern heating, cooling, and ventilation system, replacement of outdated mechanical and electrical systems, and seismic upgrades for earthquake safety.

Work includes modernization of the existing classroom wing, repurposing of the existing gymnasium, and the addition of a new gymnasium.

The site-specific educational specifications are adapted from the districtwide elementary and middle school educational specifications. A School Design Advisory Team (SDAT) helped refine the design.
