As your student gets ready to return to school this fall, please make sure they are up to date on all required immunizations. 

The Washington State Department of Health recommends scheduling your child’s immunization appointment early, so they’re ready before the first day of school. 

By law, all students in Washington state attending school, preschool, or childcare must be fully vaccinated against the following diseases. 

• Chickenpox (Varicella)   
• Diphtheria 
• German measles (Rubella)   
• Haemophilus influenzae type b disease (Hib) (not required for children 5+ years old) 
• Hepatitis B 
• Measles (Rubeola)   
• Mumps   
• Pneumococcal disease (not required for children 5+ years old) 
• Polio (Poliomyelitis)   
• Tetanus 
• Whooping cough (Pertussis)

Visit www.myirmobile.com to connect to the Washington immunization information system and register to view immunization records.

What do vaccines cost? 

In Washington, anyone under age 19 can get vaccines at no cost from their health care provider. Providers may charge an office visit fee and a fee to give the vaccine, called an administration fee. If you cannot pay this fee, you can ask your health care provider to waive the cost. Find VFC clinics by using this vaccine map at kingcounty.gov/findaclinic. You can also use https://vaccines.gov  to find other places that vaccinate near you, such as pharmacies. 

Does Seattle Public Schools provide vaccines? 

During the school year, students can register at any of our 29 School-Based Health Centers (List | Map)to receive regular medical care, as well as vaccinations. 

Be on the lookout for announcements in September 2025 for our fall vaccine clinics where students will be able to receive COVID, flu, and other school-required vaccinations.
