Online Parent Education Course Helps Families Support their Child’s Education

Empower yourself to support your child’s education by enrolling in Family Connectors University (FCU). The 10-week class offers parents and caregivers effective strategies to support student learning and growth in Seattle Public Schools (SPS). This family-friendly class, hosted by SPS and North Seattle College, has been running successfully for more than 10 years.

Topics covered always reflect the interests of the families who are enrolled in the course. Some example themes include:

  • Navigating the School System
  • Belonging and Partnership at your School
  • Supporting All Kinds of Learners to be Successful and Confident
  • Social Justice
  • Special Education at SPS
  • Social Emotional Learning and Academics

2024-25 Family Connectors University Session Dates

  • Fall session starts Sept. 24, 2024
  • Winter session starts Jan. 14, 2025
  • Spring session starts April 22, 2025
