Schools Earning the Washington School Recognition

The State Board of Education (SBE), Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC) have named 27 schools in Seattle Public Schools for outstanding achievement.

The Washington School Recognition Program honors K–12 public schools across the state for closing opportunity gaps and for students’ growth and academic achievement.

1. Alan T. Sugiyama High School: Growth for one or more student groups
2. Cascadia Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
3. Catharine Blaine K-8: Achievement for the whole school
4. Cedar Park Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
5. Coe Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
6. Decatur Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
7. Dunlap Elementary: Closing Gaps for one or more student groups
8. Gatewood Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
9. Genesee Hill Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
10. Greenwood Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups and achievement for the whole school
11. James Baldwin Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
12. John Muir Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
13. John Stanford International Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups and achievement for the whole school
14. Laurelhurst Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
15. Lawton Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
16. Lincoln High School: Achievement for the whole school
17. Loyal Heights Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
18. Magnolia Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
19. Maple Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
20. McDonald International Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
21. McGilvra Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
22. Montlake Elementary: Achievement for the whole school
23. Thornton Creek Elementary: Achievement for the whole school

26. West Woodland Elementary: Achievement for the whole school

Recognized schools will receive a banner to display in their buildings. The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) partners with the State Board of Education (SBE) and Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC) to identify and recognize schools for the program.
