Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program

Seattle School District has partnered with the Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP) to support our graduating seniors with guaranteed admissions to attend seven Washington state four-year colleges and universities. This program is for guaranteed college admissions only and does not include college financial support. The partnership improves our current efforts to meet the college and career goals of our students and to increase college access.

What is WAGAP?

The Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP) allows guaranteed admissions to attend any of these Washington public, four-year colleges or universities: Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, The Evergreen State College, Pacific Lutheran University, University of Washington Tacoma, Washington State University and Western Washington University. 

Students who meet the criteria or are on track to meet the criteria by fall of their graduation year are guaranteed admission to all seven participating institutions. To be eligible:

  • Families must decline permission to allow the district to share student information with these colleges and universities if they do not wish to participate in the program (see below)
  • Students earn and maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Students meet these College Academic Distribution Requirement courses (CADRs), which are required courses students must take in high school to be eligible to be admitted to college
    • Students should continue to work with high school teachers, counselors, and other staff to ensure they’re on track to graduate from high school and meet the requirements for this guaranteed college admissions program.
    • Students are encouraged to engage in challenging high school coursework and maintain their high school GPA during their senior year to meet the guaranteed admission criteria.

How to Apply

When its time to apply for college, students and families complete and submit the official application for admission, complete and submit additional requirements identified by the college or university, and apply for student financial aid.

Here’s how to claim your guaranteed admissions:

  1. Apply. Submit an application to one or more universities listed above.
  2. Watch your email inbox. Check your school and personal emails, including spam folders, for messages from Washington’s public universities about admissions, programs, events and more.
  3. Explore your options. Look at each university and find the one that feels like the right fit.
  4. Confirm your enrollment directly with a university’s admissions office.
  5. You’re in! Welcome to Washington’s public universities! Once you commit to a university, watch for
    communications about next steps and deadlines.
  6. Finish strong. Your guaranteed admission offer is conditioned on completing all 17 credits in six subject areas required to meet the Washington College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADRs) and finishing the year with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Opt-Out Process

Students are automatically opted in to the WAGAP Program. If you would like to opt-out of the program and decline to share your information, please complete the WAGAP opt-out form in your Start of School packet.
