NCAA
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is the organization that governs college athletics in the United States. It sets rules for student-athletes and organizes athletic programs for more than 1,000 colleges and universities.
Many student-athletes hope to play in college, but athletic skill alone isn’t enough — strong academics are essential. If you’re aiming to compete at the college level, meet with your school counselor early to create an academic plan that meets NCAA eligibility requirements. Don’t wait until junior or senior year.
Important: If you attend an online high school, ensure your courses meet NCAA standards — Seattle Public Schools is not responsible for certifying outside coursework.
Visit the NCAA Eligibility Center and review the NCAA Recruiting Calendar to understand rules and requirements.
