School Year Schedule Change

Summary: Several SPS schools have required make up days this year due to closures in January 2022.

Updates to Last Day of School for Some Schools

Several SPS schools have required make up days this year due to closures in January 2022.

These schools will have later last day for the 2021-22 school year.

Because of significant staff absences, seven schools had to close in January. It is a state rule that students receive 180 days of instruction. Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has advised that school closures related to staff absences will not be eligible for waivers and must be made up. These required make up dates will change the last day of school for these schools.

If your school is not on this list, the last day of school is Friday, June 17.

Please note, Juneteenth is a Seattle Public Schools staff holiday. This year, it will be observed on Monday, June 20.
