Stakeholder Engagement Team Working with Families and Community

Over the summer, the SPS Stakeholder Engagement Team worked in community with students, caregivers, and educators to support 180 Days of Excellence and share planning updates for the 2021-22 school year.

The beginning of the 2021-22 school year gives students, families, and educators a chance to reintroduce themselves to the powerful experience of learning. We are reminded again and again of how we grow through adversity, inside and outside the classroom. We are proud to be part of a community of learners, caregivers, and supporters holding each other up and moving each other forward.

This summer, Stakeholder Engagement Staff coordinated with 16 organizations and community-based leaders on 47 unique multilingual and multicultural community events. These efforts sought to improve on family engagement efforts and relationships for more responsive communication about the educational experience and concerns this upcoming school year.

The values of community are some of the first lessons students learn, taught by their first and life-long teachers: caregivers, parents, and neighborhood. As we continue to partner throughout the year, we hope our schools reflect what matters most to the communities we serve.
