    Summer Information and Resources

    The school year has ended but Seattle Public Schools will be hard at work to prepare for a great 2018-19 school year. Below is a collection of resources and helpful links that families may need during the summer. Our customer service staff and many central district offices will be available throughout the summer if you have any questions. Check our directory for contact information.

    Keep Kids Learning During the Summer

    Avoid the summer slide and keep students learning during the summer A summer without educational activities can lead to summer learning loss, also know as summer slide, putting students behind at the start of the next school year. Read tips for keeping your student engaged with learning throughout the summer.

    Summer Meals

    The City of Seattle funds a summer meal program, providing no-cost breakfasts, lunches and snacks for kids and teens ages 1-18 years. The 2018 program runs from June 26 through Aug. 24. Read more about the Children and Youth Summer Meal Program.

    Online Resources

    Student Online Academic Resources Available During the Summer

    During the summer months, families and students continue have access to online resources include encyclopedias, periodicals, eBooks and much more. Find online academic resources.

    The Source Unavailable July 13 - Aug. 6

    The Source will undergo system maintenance and be unavailable this summer between July 13 through Aug. 6. The Source provides access to student record information such as attendance, assessment scores, library information, classes, and the student data verification form. Read more about The Source.

    Admissions and Enrollment Center

    The Admissions Center at John Stanford Center will be closed from July 13 through Aug. 3. During this time, students and families will not be able to access the online registration system, which will be undergoing system maintenance. Read about enrollment in Seattle Public Schools.

    Summer Construction Projects

    While school is out for summer, work ramps up for projects funded through voter approved capital levies. While school construction and addition projects take multiple years, smaller projects are completed during the summer months to avoid disrupting teaching and learning activities.
