    Seattle Students are Super Readers

Seattle Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of Seattle Super Readers, a reading campaign that is entirely focused on boosting early literacy. Read more about Seattle Super Readers!

Every Seattle Public Schools student is a Seattle Super Reader, and summer is the perfect time to practice and build reading superpowers like learning new words, understanding what is read, and reading smoothly.

Research shows that daily reading, just 20 minutes per day, helps prepare students for success. We are beginning our reading campaign by focusing on the summer months, and our goal is to have 100% of students reading daily over the summer.

Seattle Public School Libraries Open During the Summer

Some Seattle Public School Libraries will be open throughout the summer across the city.

Students visiting an Seattle Public Schools elementary library must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a drop off program due to limited staffing. Our incredible librarians are volunteering their time.
