Structural steel for new classroom addition

    Three Projects Under Construction

Work continues on the levy-funded construction projects at Daniel Bagley Elementary, Wing Luke Elementary, and Webster School.

    Daniel Bagley Elementary

At Bagley, the structural steel for the new classroom addition is in place (shown above) and the concrete has been poured for the first and second floors.

Work on the roof of the new gym is underway.

In the existing landmarked building, framing and wallboard installation continues on the first floor, and painting and ceiling grid installation is underway on the second floor. Because the ceiling is uneven in some areas, furring strips were installed before ceiling work could begin. The project will be ready for students to begin school on Sept. 2, 2020. Wing Luke Elementary

Wing Luke’s three new buildings can be clearly seen from the aerial view.

Wall framing is complete in Building A, which will house the main entry, administration offices, and classrooms. Workers began installing door frames and wallboard. Building B, with the library and classrooms, now has the second-floor concrete deck in place, and the glue laminated timber (glulam) structural beams were installed in the library.

Steel is being erected and roof trusses installed over the commons and gymnasium in Building C. The new Wing Luke Elementary will open in Fall 2021. (Learn more about this construction project.)

    Licton Springs at Webster School

The roof is complete on the historic Webster School building, and the new windows have been installed. Earthquake safety (seismic) reinforcement work continues. Interior metal-stud framing continued with the first floor complete and the second floor in progress. Masonry veneer has been installed on the gymnasium addition, and slab-on-grade concrete was poured.  Structural steel erection is complete for the portion of the addition that connects the new gym with the historic school building. Roof installation is in progress.
