Celebrating Opening of Two School Buildings

Seattle Public Schools hosted two ribbon cutting celebrations for the opening of E.C. Hughes School and Loyal Heights Elementary School buildings on Tues., Sept. 5

Roxhill Elementary School students and staff will move into the newly modernized E.C. Hughes School building this September. The E.C. Hughes modernization project was included in the Buildings, Technology and Academics IV (BTA IV) Capital Levy and approved by Seattle voters in 2016

Loyal Heights students and staff will move into their modernized and expanded building this Sept. The Loyal Heights modernization and expansion project was included in the Building Excellence IV (BEX IV) Capital Levy and approved by Seattle voters in 2013.

Capital levies are the key funding source for improving safety and security for students, reducing portables, adding classrooms, improving technology infrastructure for schools, and increasing access to classroom technology.
