    Discussing Israeli-Palestinian Relations

    Seattle Public Schools is fortunate to serve a diverse community of students, families, and staff from all over the world. Students and staff may be experiencing a variety of emotions around the recent events between Israel and Palestine. While many adults have experienced emotions around this ongoing issue, it may be new to young people. Conversations at home may become more frequent and students and staff may bring these to school, impacting relationships, well-being, and even feelings of emotional safety.

    SPS staff continue to focus on providing safe, stable, nurturing spaces is critical to ensuring that multiple perspectives are valued, and all feelings and emotions are validated. Educators are prepared to support young people in classrooms. Resources have been provided to classroom teachers to support respectful conversations and civil discourse that are student focused and educational.

    To support conversations at home, we are sharing the resources that have been shared with our classroom educators as well as social emotional resources if you find that you or your student are in need of support.
