Supporting High School Students During School Closure

There is no wrong way to encourage learning. Do your best, seek out resources when needed, and give yourself and your children time to learn how to learn at home.

Most importantly, stay safe and healthy as we work through this time together.

All children benefit from routine and with opportunities for choice, and independence. Younger learners will need more guidance and modeling from adults while fifth to eighth grade students are ready to practice self management skills toward independence.

Routines can be modeled, practiced and development shared with students. As days pass, students can be encouraged to offer help in adjusting the routines and schedule.
