    Letter to Southeast Region Families
    Posted on 11/14/2020

    Dear Southeast Region Families:

The health and wellbeing of our families, students, and staff is our top priority. We are writing to let you know that a staff member supporting meal distribution at Aki Kurose Middle School has been confirmed to have COVID-19.

The staff member was last at the meal distribution site on Tuesday, November 10. Individuals who came in close contact with this staff member have been identified and instructed to follow Public Health guidelines.

We are sharing this information in an abundance of caution. Following health guidance, the staff member was wearing a face mask, practiced physical/social distancing and practiced good hygiene while at the school.

As a reminder, COVID-19 continues to increase in King County. We each can play an important role in reducing transmission of the virus. Please continue to wear face coverings when you leave you home, keep at least 6 feet away from others as much as possible, and wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available.

Symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Symptoms may range from mild symptoms to severe illness and may include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. If you begin experiencing any of these symptoms, please consult your health care provider.

If you have questions about COVID-19 or need help finding health care or a free testing site, please call King County's COVID-19 Call Center at 206-377-4977. The call center is open between 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. We have included links below to resources that you may find helpful.

The Aki Kurose Middle School meal site will be open on Monday, November 16.
