Thornton Creek Elementary Wins Global Reading Challenge

Congratulations to "The Book Thieves" team from Thornton Creek Elementary School for winning Seattle Public Library's Global Reading Challenge.

The Global Reading Challenge is a battle of the books program for fourth and fifth graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools. The program encourages children to have fun and enjoy reading.

For the competition, after reading 10 books, children took part in a "quiz bowl" game in which they answered a series of questions to determine the winner for the city of Seattle. Representatives from SPS' Department of Early Learning were on hand to help with the challenge. Congratulations to all our schools and students who took part.
