    Dear Students, Families, and Community!

I would like to start by saying, CONGRATULATIONS! You made it through this 2019/2020 school year. It hasn’t been easy as we are in a pandemic, Novel Corona Virus 19, a killer bee from Asia, and currently engulfed in the protests, not only in Seattle but also across the United States and the world. These are not easy times when we are doing our best to stay healthy and “social distancing”, which isn’t easy because we don’t get to be with our friends at school or family in different parts of the country and world. We are also watching the extreme racism demonstrated here in the USA; meanwhile, we are marching to let the world know that Black Lives Matter.

I’m PROUD of you. You are the First Peoples of this land; you are standing up for what is right and just. It isn’t easy, but it needs to be done, and you’re doing it.

While you know every year we have an End-of-Year Celebration, we didn’t this year. Seattle Public Schools are closed, and Governor Inslee shut down public gatherings. However, we would still like to give you a certificate and paddle necklace; this is a gift we give to students every year who attend our event at Daybreak Star. If you would like to receive one, please send us the following information by June 12th:

    • Your name, age, school, grade
    • An address where we can drop off or send in the mail (we will be social distancing and deliver wearing masks)
    • If you are a senior, please contact us as we have a graduation gift as well
    • Email me at or call me 206-252-0948 and leave a number so I can call you back; please do this so we can get your information
    • We have a limited number of necklaces, we will give it to the first 100 students, please don’t delay, we run out of necklaces every year.

Deadline to submit the above information: June 12, 2020. This will be a hard deadline as we will have to mail and deliver. We appreciate your speedy response.

*Also, if you would like support to pay a utility bill (water sewer garbage, Seattle City Light, or PSE) we can help you with that. You will need these items: lease/rental agreement, current bill, and student must have a 506 Form on file with us. Contact information above.

Be Well, Be Healthy, Be Kind,
