State law requires Seattle Public Schools to surplus discarded technology rather than offering refurbished devices to students and parents. While Seattle Public Schools does not provide home computers, internet service or smart phone plans, the City of Seattle offers these types of resources through the Digital Equity Initiative program. Their website provides links to discounted internet access, smart phone plans, laptops, desktop computers and tablets.
