    • Construction start: Summer 2019
    • Estimated school opening: Fall 2020

    About the Project

Bagley Elementary opened in 1930 and currently accommodates 353 students.

The Seattle Landmarks Review Board has designated some features of the building as landmarks, including the main stairways, the student dining hall, and the exterior. Care will be taken to preserve or restore these historic features.

This project renovates the existing building. A two-story classroom addition will add eight new classrooms, and a new gymnasium addition will be more than double the size of the existing gym.

Once completed, the school will have approximately 58,500 square feet for up to 500 students, and consisting of the 39,000 square-foot historic elementary, 13,000 square-foot classroom addition, and 6,500 square-foot gymnasium addition.

The school community has relocated to John Marshall School while their building is under construction.
