    Rainier Beach Replacement Project

    project phase graphics

    About the Project

Rainier Beach High School will be replaced with a new multi-story high school of approximately 233,700 square feet. When completed, it will provide permanent space for 1,600 students grades 9-12. The project also includes renovation of the existing Performing Arts Center. Students will remain on-site during the phased construction. BEX V funding will also provide technology equipment and services, such as computers, peripherals, printers, and other technology for teaching and learning.

As with all schools that were built 25 years ago or more, the district has submitted a landmark nomination for Rainier Beach High School to the City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board. By self-nominating the buildings, the district avoids having someone else nominate the project, which can delay progress.

You can find the nomination documents on the City of Seattle's website.
