    Add Your Voice

Do you want to help make a difference in the future of Seattle Public Schools? Add your voice to the discussion by sharing your priorities and ideas with us.

As new opportunities to inform district decisions arise, we will be inviting you to participate and listing a summary on this page.

Seattle Public Schools and the Board of Directors believe community engagement and two-way communication are essential to improving district decisions and outcomes for students.

Attend a SPS School Board Meeting

You are invited to attend the public Seattle Public Schools Board meetings to gain a better understanding of school business and the role of the Board. The Seattle Public School Board welcomes members to address the Board on agenda items and other issues of concern during public testimony.

The final list of public testimony will be posted on the meeting's agenda by the close of business the day before the regular Board meeting. All meeting agendas are located on the Board Agenda webpage and posted the Friday before Board meetings.

Visit the Attend a Board Meeting for a list of upcoming meetings and details on how to sign up for public testimony.

    Strategic Planning

In August 2018, Seattle Public Schools began the process to create a new strategic plan. The new strategic plan will set the course for the district for the next three to five years. The plan will guide how district funds are spent and which initiatives are undertaken to ensure SPS prepares every student for college, career, and life. It will include a theory of action and a short list of high-impact priorities and measurable goals focused on improving outcomes for students. Read about the Seattle Public Schools strategic planning.

Superintendent Juneau’s Listening and Learning Tour

As part of this process, Superintendent Juneau embarked on a comprehensive Listen and Learn Tour to gather an understanding of the district's strengths, challenges, and what is most important for her to consider as plans are developed for the district's future. The input she received, combined with feedback from an online ThoughtExchange discussion, will help shape the new plan. Read more about the Superintendent Juneau's Listening and Learning Tour.
