Black Lives Matter at School Week
January 31, 2022 - February 4, 2022
Seattle Public Schools supports Black Lives Matter at School Week in solidarity with our students, families, educators, and community partners.
At the January 26 School Board meeting, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to adopt School Board Resolution No. 2021/22-15, declaring that the lives of Black students matter, as well as the lives of all our students who are furthest from educational justice. It also encourages participation district-wide in the national Black Live Matter At School Week from January 31 – February 4, 2022 and Year of Purpose 2021-22.
We are committed to supporting the brilliance and excellence of Black students in classrooms, curriculum, and throughout the district 365 days a year.
At Seattle Public Schools, we are working to dramatically improve academic and life outcomes for Students of Color by disrupting the legacies of racism in our educational system. Read more about the district strategic plan.
