Definitions:
Freshman
Advisory - The 20 minute freshman advisory period on Monday
morning will be a time when each staff person will communicate with
a group of about five freshmen. The idea is to provide constant
proactive oversight and an adult relationship to every freshman
next year.
Office
Hours - The 20 minute office hours time on Friday is an
attempt to create a dedicated time at the end of the week where
students know they can find their teachers to gather make-up work,
to ask questions, to get help, and to catch-up.

Help
is here for West Seattle Parents
Have
you ever wondered how you would answer if your teen asks you
if you drank in high school? Or how to teach anger management
when you find yourself yelling? Ever worried about your teen
being peer pressured, and wonder if they have the skills they
need to refuse?
In
the coming months, West Seattle’s “Stop Youth
Drinking, Start Thinking Coalition” is hosting several
five-week workshops called Staying Connected with Your Teen.
This workshop series brings parents together to delve into
the mysterious inner workings of teenage development, and
helps parents understand the unique behaviors that are often
associated only with teens. After looking at what teen development
is all about, the series builds parents’ skills to better
handle the budding and sometimes unfriendly personality of
these young adults, while setting firm boundaries to keep
kids safe. Staying Connected with your Teen will be offered.
