For a very special reason, I am very excited and can’t wait to see all of my children, pardon me, your children back in school. During our summer vacation I spent time with family and friends and quite often I thought about our children. Please forgive me, I call your children our children, because I strongly believe together we will guide and support our children the very best we can, to make sure they will be the highest achievers possible. And even though we might not agree with each other’s decisions during the school year, we will sit and talk and let our children know exactly why we have made such decisions and we will work together.
This new school year will bring new attitudes, new commitments, and new solutions, as well as reinforcing what we have done well to ensure our children’s academic growth, and it will make us proud. I welcome you to our wonderful school! Please show your children your support, love, and that you are responsible parents by coming to check on, talk to, and even drop by for lunch and it will mean a lot to our children and us!
I want to thank you, as our partner, for raising our children to be such respectful and polite individuals with high expectations and wonderful manners. Most importantly I am excited by their ever growing positive attitude towards school, teachers, and of course friends. On behalf of all the Wing Luke Elementary staff, I would like to express our deepest thanks to each and every one of you for doing such a great job as parents, guardians, and the whole family!
As we continue our work this school year, I ask each of you, again as our partner, to support us and our children by checking your child’s backpack every night, ask them about their daily assignments, communicate with their teachers, as well as providing a space for them to read and do homework. Please check out our website and email us with your concerns or tell us what we are doing well. Our doors are always open! |
At Wing Luke Elementary we believe the following;
- Every child’s potential is unlimited
- Students need challenges, not easy successes
- Each child needs to feel valued and appreciated by his/her teachers to achieve at the highest level
- Any child’s failure to achieve at their highest level is a failure by us to find the appropriate strategies to motivate and teach that child
- There is no one right way to teach, there is no magic curriculum, no perfect strategy
- Behavior is purposeful
- A powerful partnership between parents and teachers can be the most significant factor in guiding and shaping a child’s development
Wing Luke Elementary is a school where teachers love their children and love the process of educating them. Wing Luke Elem. values excellence, compassion, cooperation, creativity, determination, and joy. I am looking forward to another amazing year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Davy Muth
