2009-2010
Whitman PTSA
Annual Giving Campaign and Fundraising Events
Welcome back to school! Enclosed with this letter is our Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) brochure. Please take a few moments to read and review this brochure. The AGC is the simplest and most effective way to raise funds to enhance your student’s education.
Our goal for the 2009-2010 school year is for EVERY student’s family to participate in the AGC at some level, whether it is $2 or $2000, contributing to the AGC is important 100% participation means community involvement which means success! Let’s raise $58,500! All donations are tax-deductible.
To celebrate the beginning of the school year and the AGC, we will be hosting our Annual Joe ’n Dough mornings on September 22nd and 23rd. This event takes place BEFORE school, beginning at 7:30am. Please accompany your student to school on one of these mornings, park your car in the south parking lot, come visit the Joe ‘n Dough station, drop off your donation, meet fellow Whitman parents and enjoy a cup of coffee and a doughnut! If you cannot drop by on these mornings, you can always donate to the AGC by mail, through our website at
www.seattleschools.org/schools/Whitman, or drop by your donation in the main office. Help ensure the continued high quality of your student’s experience at Whitman…..donate to the AGC!Listed below are three additional fundraising opportunities that occur during the school year at Whitman. If you are interested in participating in any of these, please indicate so on the volunteer form in this packet and a fundraising volunteer will be in touch with you.
THE FUNKY FORMAL….February 2010 – This is a parent, teacher and staff social that happens in early 2010! Parents and staff enjoy good music, dancing, conversation and bidding on some wonderful items in our small silent auction, it’s strictly for the grown-ups……and its fun!
CAT Tracks…..May 2010- CAT Tracks is an all school move-a-thon! This is strictly for the students, and it is fun too! All students who have collected a minimum amount of pledges before the date of CAT Tracks are eligible to participate in a move-a-thon on Whitman’s fabulous track. During the student’s time on the track, there are many prizes for them to win, lots of fun music to listen to and plenty of time to ‘move’ with friends while raising money for our school.
Safeway Escrip, Ballard Market Receipts and Box Tops for Education. All of these programs are probably familiar to most families. Don’t forget to use your Safeway escrip card. Please save your Ballard Market receipts and tear off your box-tops and hand them into the Main office. These are collected through the school year and they make a difference…last year Whitman benefited by about $5000!
Please consider joining the fun and get involved in Whitman fundraising……it’s for the kids! If you have any questions, please contact:
