General Information:

World History classes are basic skills classes.

A variety of historical periods and geographical regions are studied in each grade level.

Eastern Hemisphere: 6th Grade The Social Studies program for the sixth grade develops understandings and concepts of history through the exploration of the history and cultures of different civilizations and the development of modern nations.

U.S. History: 7th Grade The study of American History from the origins of the American Revolution to the present. Major emphasis on the Civil War up to the Twentieth Century period. Also includes geographical study of the Western Hemisphere.

World Geography: 8th Grade World Geography is designed to train students in essential geographical skills while at the same time enabling them to consider the distribution of individual geographic factors on a world wide basis. Units of study include: an introduction to World Geography, land forms, climate, the distribution, conservation and utilization of the world's resources and international trade.

Washington State History: 8th Grade ~ required for graduation from Washington state schools. Washington State History and Government in grade 8 is a chronological survey of the history of the state, with emphasis on the history of Washington since statehood and a study of the different levels of a government within the state. In many instances, the area under consideration will be larger than Washington State since the Pacific Northwest Region was and is the stage for most of our local history.
