Seattle School District policy states: All visitors MUST report to the Office, sign in, and follow school procedures for visitors.

 

Dropping Off/Picking up Students

Please do not drive onto school property at the north side of the school. Forty Ninth Avenue NE is small and congested, not a good street to drive into/out of. We would suggest that you drive behind the Sand Point Community Church to drop off/pick up your children. The school driveway is reserved for school buses and other school district vehicles. Please remember to drive SLOWLY; children's safety is at stake!

 

Homework Policy

Homework is a constructive tool in the teaching/learning process when geared to the needs and abilities of students. Homework is a worthwhile use of time outside regular school hours to practice, maintain, complete, make up, or enrich classroom activities. It is also meant to help develop independent study habits and appreciation for the value of learning.

It is the policy of the Seattle School District that homework is required for all elementary students.

Sick Day Homework Policy: If your child is sick, you may request the homework for that day to be sent home.

Vacation Homework Policy: It is the View Ridge School policy to ask parents to have students write daily journals and read a special book when on vacation during the school session. When the student returns, it will be the student's responsibility to ask for homework that was required and complete those pages requested by the teacher.

 

Absent/Late Arrival/Leaving Early

If a student is going to be absent please notify the office;252-5600. When arriving late the student must report to the office. When leaving early the parent or guardian must report to the office and sign the student out.

 

Lost and Found

Please label students' coats and jackets with their name. Check the lost and found table outside the office door for any belongings that might belong to your child.
